Marrakech: Ryad Mezzour Calls for Support for Entrepreneurial Initiative to Drive Job Creation
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, on Friday in Marrakech, called for supporting entrepreneurial initiative as a lever for job creation and economic transformation.

Speaking at a meeting organized by Réseau Entreprendre Maroc, in the presence of key players from the national entrepreneurship ecosystem, Mr. Mezzour noted that “the national economy, in its best years, is capable of creating 250,000 jobs”, considering that “this figure remains insufficient given the growing number of graduates, particularly around 180,000 holders of higher education degrees and more than 330,000 young people from vocational training who enter the labor market each year”.
“Faced with this imbalance, which represents one of the greatest challenges our country is facing, our collective responsibility, as public and private stakeholders, is to multiply opportunities, encourage the spirit of entrepreneurial initiative and support all those who contribute to value and job creation”, he stressed.
In this context, Mr. Mezzour highlighted the central role of companies in creating employment opportunities, noting that “however, startups remain fragile, particularly during their early years, hence the importance of support, mentoring and networks such as Réseau Entreprendre Maroc”.
“Our country is rich in talent, skills and innovative entrepreneurs who develop world class technologies and demonstrate that Moroccan know how can compete with the best”, the minister added, pointing out that Morocco has already demonstrated its ability to successfully carry out major transformations, notably in key sectors such as the automotive and aeronautics industries.
The next step requires stronger collective mobilization, reinforced trust in entrepreneurs and support for the emergence of a new generation of wealth creators, Mr. Mezzour continued, before concluding that support networks have the expertise and capacity needed to identify talent, accompany it and enable it to contribute to economic development.
Organized on the occasion of the celebration of twenty years of commitment by Réseau Entreprendre Maroc in support of entrepreneurship, the event brought together nearly 200 stakeholders from the national entrepreneurship ecosystem, including business leaders, entrepreneurs supported by the Network, institutional and private partners, as well as figures engaged in economic development and employment.
Held under the theme “20 years of boldness and impact”, the meeting also highlighted the contribution of Réseau Entreprendre Maroc to supporting the national entrepreneurial fabric, through the support of hundreds of entrepreneurs, the mobilization of volunteer business leaders, and the granting of loans aimed at strengthening the equity of beneficiary companies and enabling them to develop their projects under appropriate conditions.
The program also featured a roundtable bringing together the presidents who have successively led the Network, offering perspectives on two decades of entrepreneurial commitment and sharing a common vision centered on job creation and value generation.
