Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF)
The Executive Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) held a meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the federation’s headquarters. At the opening of the meeting, the President of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, welcomed the members of the Executive Committee and, on behalf of the entire national football family, extended his warm congratulations to King Mohammed VI and to the Moroccan people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan 1447.

The Executive Committee then addressed the items on the following agenda:
1. International competitions
During his address, the President of the FRMF, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, stressed two major axes. The first relates to the international dimension of Moroccan football in both the short and medium term.
Regarding the second axis related to the National Professional Football League (LNFP), the FRMF President recalled that the current football season will remain exceptional, with the organization of the CHAN, the FIFA Arab Cup, and the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
Furthermore, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa announced that the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations held in the Kingdom will be subject to a comprehensive evaluation during a special meeting scheduled in the coming days.
Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa also recalled that the Appeals Jury of the Confederation of African Football has still not ruled on the incidents that occurred during the AFCON final, which had led to decisions deemed unfair toward the Moroccan national team by the CAF disciplinary jury.
He stressed that the FRMF is closely following this matter through the regulatory channels that guarantee the protection of the principles and values of football.
2. Amendments to the statutes of the LNFP
During this meeting of the FRMF Executive Committee, the President of the LNFP, Abdesselam Belegchour, presented in detail the amendments to the LNFP statutes for approval. These include:
• The LNFP statute governing the organization of General Assemblies.
• The statute of the Commission for the control and audit of membership and eligibility conditions within clubs.
• Legal recommendations related to the practice of football by the LNFP.
At the end of the meeting of the FRMF Executive Committee, the President of the LNFP also recalled the obstacles and difficulties faced by the scheduling commission.
In this regard, the FRMF Executive Committee approved the LNFP’s proposal to continue the national championship matches as initially scheduled.
