Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency unveils its Ramadan programme in the Holy City

The Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency unveiled, on Friday in Rabat, its programme for the upcoming month of Ramadan 1447H in the Holy City, during the charitable fundraising event “Night of Charity”, held as part of the “Al-Qods Nights in Morocco”.

In a statement, the Agency said that the programme includes, in particular, the distribution of 5,000 food baskets containing 22 basic products to needy families in Al-Qods, as well as iftar meals for residents of hospitals and social centres.

The initiative also provides for the organisation of collective iftars and the distribution of Eid Al-Fitr clothing for the benefit of 500 orphans from supported families, with the aim of bringing them joy and preserving their dignity, according to the same source.

This programme forms part of the Agency’s constant and ongoing commitment to supporting the resilience of the Maqdessis and to preserving the civilisational and religious identity of the Holy City, in implementation of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Qods Committee, through concrete initiatives that respond to the needs of the population, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Beyond its social dimension, the statement continues, the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency works to safeguard the spiritual and cultural character of the holy month through symbolic initiatives, including the tradition of lighting Ramadan lanterns (fanous) in the old city, in order to preserve religious heritage and strengthen the collective memory of the inhabitants of Al-Qods.

Beneficiaries of this programme are selected according to precise criteria established by a commission of social experts, in direct coordination with the Agency’s office in Al-Qods and in partnership with local social institutions, to ensure that assistance reaches the most vulnerable groups, within the limits of the budget allocated to this operation.
