Morocco–India: A New Momentum Toward a Strategic Trade Partnership

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Trade responsible for Foreign Trade, Omar Hijra, held a working session today in Rabat with Nina Malhotra, Head of the Middle East and North Africa region at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, who is on an official visit to Morocco from November 18 to 20, 2025. The Ambassador of the Republic of India in Rabat also attended the meeting.

This session provided a key opportunity to review ways to further strengthen economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of India, particularly in the areas of industry, trade and investment. Both sides stressed the importance of expanding bilateral trade volumes and exploring new partnership opportunities in high-potential sectors.

Discussions also highlighted the significant outcomes of Mr. Hijra’s official visit to India last September, which contributed to boosting economic ties between the two countries and opened new prospects for structured cooperation.

This meeting forms part of the ongoing positive momentum shaping Morocco–India relations, built on mutual respect, economic complementarity and a shared commitment to establishing a strong and lasting partnership that supports development and prosperity for both nations.
