Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, received on Wednesday, January 21, at his office in Rabat, the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, Gabon, and Malaysia, accredited to Morocco.

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance began his series of meetings with talks held with Alex Pinfield, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Rabat. The two sides held extensive consultations covering the various areas of advanced security cooperation between the two countries.

At the start of this meeting, both officials reviewed the levels and forms of the distinguished cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Kingdom in the security field, particularly in border security, counterterrorism, and the fight against transnational crime. They also examined mechanisms to strengthen and expand this cooperation so that it reflects the privileged relations uniting the two friendly countries.

The meeting program continued with Branly Martial Oupolo, Ambassador of the Republic of Gabon to Morocco. This meeting focused on ways to consolidate security cooperation between the two countries, as well as on the security situation in the regional environment, particularly in the Sahel and Sahara region, and on the risks, threats, and repercussions resulting from emerging crises in the shared regional space.

This meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to lay the foundations of a shared strategic vision aimed at building a South-South police cooperation space, based on strengthening cooperation mechanisms in police training, combating irregular migration networks, as well as monitoring and countering the movements of terrorist organizations in the Sahel and Sahara region.

The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance concluded this series of bilateral meetings with talks held with Shahabudeen Bin Adam Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Morocco. Discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral security cooperation and consolidate the security partnership, particularly through mutual technical assistance and operational cooperation.

These bilateral meetings illustrate the commitment of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance to activating security partnerships with friendly and brotherly countries, through a sustainable vision aimed at strengthening effective integration to address emerging criminal and terrorist threats. They also reflect the constant willingness of Moroccan security services to respond to all requests for cooperation that help consolidate security coordination between the Kingdom of Morocco and its various friendly and brotherly countries.
