Qatar Condemns Iranian Attack Targeting Buildings in Bahrain Housing Qatari Forces
The State of Qatar on Friday condemned an Iranian attack targeting buildings in Bahrain that house elements of the Qatari naval forces.

Qatar condemned “in the strongest terms” the Iranian attack that targeted buildings located in different areas of the Kingdom of Bahrain and housing members of the Qatari naval forces participating in the Unified Maritime Operations Center under the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry described the attack as “a blatant act of hostility and a clear violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain,” as well as “a direct threat to its security, stability and that of the region,” stressing “the full solidarity of the State of Qatar with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the face of this aggression.”
The ministry affirmed that targeting facilities housing forces operating within the Gulf security cooperation system represents “a dangerous escalation that undermines the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and violates the principles of good neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of states.”
The attack caused no casualties among the members of the Qatari naval forces present in the targeted buildings, the statement added.
The ministry reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of any act threatening the security of countries in the region and the integrity of their facilities, calling for an end to the escalation and for respect for the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations in order to preserve the security and stability of the region and spare its peoples the risks of a new rise in tensions.
