Israel eliminates Ali Larijani, one of Iran’s main leaders, and the Commander of the “Basij”

“The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army has just informed me that Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and Soleimani, Head of the Basij, the central repressive apparatus of Iran, have been eliminated”… “They have joined in the depths of hell (Ali) Khamenei,” said Israel Katz in a video message… He added: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I have instructed the Israeli army to relentlessly pursue the leaders of the regime of terror and oppression in Iran.”

Since the elimination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Khamenei, on the first day of the Israeli-American strikes in Iran on February 28, Ali Larijani had been one of the main faces of Iranian power.

The Basij commander killed:

General Gholamreza Soleimani, killed in Tehran, was the commander of the Basij, a militia of Islamist volunteers notably tasked with maintaining order in Iran.

Alongside the Revolutionary Guards, the Basij has for several days been a target of Israeli airstrikes. This militia recruits mainly from the youth and acts as an ideological organization embedded within all institutions and layers of society.

It “is part of the armed apparatus of the Iranian terrorist regime” and has “carried out the main repression operations, resorting to extreme violence, mass arrests, and the use of force against civilian protesters,” commented the Israeli army.

Israel continues its offensive:

The Israeli army “is continuing its operations in Iran with great intensity, targeting the regime’s resources, neutralizing its missile launch capabilities, and destroying key strategic infrastructure (…)”. The Islamic Revolution “is in the process of being dismantled, and its leaders as well as its capabilities are being neutralized,” it asserted.
