“The Best” FIFA 2025: Achraf Hakimi Named in the Team of the Year
Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, a player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the national team, has been selected in FIFA’s Team of the Year, which brings together the eleven best players of the 2024–2025 football season, unveiled during the “The Best” awards ceremony held on Tuesday in Doha.

PSG players, European champions, largely dominated this Team of the Year with the presence of five Parisians. Alongside Achraf Hakimi, the lineup features defenders William Pacho and Nuno Mendes, midfielder Vitinha, and French forward Ousmane Dembélé, who was crowned Best Player of the Year 2025.
The Team of the Year also includes goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City), defender Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), as well as midfielders Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Pedri (FC Barcelona) and Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona).
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique won the award for Best Coach of the Year 2025, while Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was named Best Goalkeeper.
Argentine Independiente player Santiago Montiel won the “Puskás” Award for the most beautiful goal, while Mexico’s Lizbeth Ovalle claimed the “Marta” Award for the best women’s goal.
The Fair Play Award was presented to Dr. Andreas Haralds Nöcking for saving the life of a supporter. The fans of Iraqi club Zakho were, for their part, named Best Fans in the World for 2025.
Likewise, England women’s national team head coach Sarina Wiegman won the award for Best Women’s Coach.
In the women’s category, Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí was crowned Best Women’s Player, while England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton received the award for Best Women’s Goalkeeper.
