Abdellatif Hammouchi Oversees Security Preparations at Complexe Moulay Abdellah Ahead of Major Sporting Events

On the afternoon of Friday, September 5, Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of the National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN), conducted an inspection tour of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The visit aimed to review the security and safety protocols implemented by the Rabat Police Prefecture ahead of the Morocco–Niger match, part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

During his tour of the stadium’s facilities and infrastructure, Hammouchi examined the various security plans designed to ensure the smooth running of the match, including traffic management measures for efficient access to and from the stadium, and the sporting security setup to guarantee a calm and secure atmosphere for spectators.

He also reviewed the specialized protocol established for the new Complexe Moulay Abdellah, both for World Cup qualifying matches and for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted by Morocco later this year.

The Prefect of Police of Rabat provided detailed explanations regarding the personnel, equipment, and logistical resources mobilized to secure the complex, taking into account its modern architecture and ensuring the highest standards of safety. The Prefect also presented the new digital surveillance system covering all stadium facilities.

This inspection is part of ongoing preparations by the National Security services to safeguard major continental and international sports competitions hosted in Morocco. It also serves to evaluate and strengthen security protocols to guarantee the success of these high-profile events.

It is worth noting that the DGSN has long pursued a comprehensive, integrated security strategy for sporting events in Morocco. This includes the training and development of specialized sports security brigades, establishing international security cooperation programs with participating countries, and implementing the “Stadia” system in partnership with Interpol to ensure the safety and success of all continental and international sports events.
